Hello lovely friends out there!! How is everyone this early Sunday morning?? I hope you are all either sleeping or doing something lovely, like sipping on coffee and snuggling up on the couch.

I am currently running around trying to make sure my suitcase has everything packed in, and my passport is readily available. Cause I am leaving in about an hour for EUROPE!! My lovely, sweet, amazing Grandparents are taking the entire family on a cruise through the Mediterranean!!! I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of the office and away from my computer for two weeks! I will try to check my e-mail as much as I can while I am there, but if I don't respond as promptly as usual it is because I am out of town...and I will get back to you as quickly as I can! I hope everyone has an awesome last few weeks of summer and I will post all sorts of pictures (weddings and trip pictures) when I get home!!!

I miss you all already, and my tree and my dogs. I can't wait to come home and share my trip with everyone. Have a great two weeks!!!

Happy Monday!! How was everyone's weekend? Ours was pretty great. Spent some time in the sun, got to visit family and our friends precious new baby boy (we will definitely post some pics of that goodness soon!) All in all it was a great weekend! Happy Friday. Happy July (can you believe 2011 is half way over?!). Happy Canada Day. Happy SUMMER!!! How is everyone this sunny, July afternoon?? I hope you are all staying cool, perhaps in a lovely pool sipping on lavender lemonade...or something along those lines. That just happens to be what I have been craving all week. ;)
Today I have the loving, sweet, beautiful, Shannon....and her super rad husband Nick. (and Bradley Ryan in the oven...although he has since made his big world debut! And he is perfect!!) Nick and Shannon are some of our closest friends. Brent has known Nick since they were just tiny little peanuts....haha yes, Brent was once a tiny peanut!!! We love these two with all our hearts. They are perfect for each other and are already SUCH amazing parents to little Bradley!! Like for real, they are amazing!! We had the extreme honor of meeting precious little Bradley about a week ago and he is truly, truly perfection! We love him already!! I can't wait to get him in front of my lens! ;) But enough of me going on and on...Allow me to introduce the fabulous Shannon and Nick.

Congratulations Nick and Shannon. Bradley is so precious, we can't wait to get to know him and spoil him like crazy! :) We love you guys!

Happy Tuesday. I've got a pretty rad treat for ya today. Justin and Bridget are awesome....and we were so so excited for their big day! Trust me, you'd love them...they are fun, silly, happy and so so so adorable! Their wedding was sweet and filled with the love of family and close friends. It was a perfect day for a perfect couple who love each other so sweetly. We were honored to capture that sweet love. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Friday, friends. I have a sweet little couple to share with you guys today. Jim and Lara, as you can see below are so cute together it hurts your cheeks from smiling! Not only are they absolutely adorable, but they are sweet, fun and oh so hilarious. I don't think that Brent and I stopped laughing once during this session!! I could go on forever about how great these two are, but you don't have to take my word for it...see for yourself...

Tito and Theresa Engaged!!

Happy Friday, friends! What are you all planning for the weekend? We're just planning on relaxing and spending the last two days of Brent's Spring break being a little lazy....Oh haha and going to DISNEYLAND!!! :D (we are serious disneyland nerds!) Brent's two weeks off have been so fun. Our first week together was pretty jam packed with hikes, trips to the zoo, lots of super long dog walks, bike rides movie dates and way too much eating...then we slowed down this week...still lots of time with the dogs and a bike ride somewhere in there...but we spent a lot more time watching movies on the couch then the first week. Now we are just counting down to summer vacation! ;D
Enough about our little Spring break....I know you are here to see some adorable people in love!! So today I have an extra adorable couple that I have known since the beginning of their sweet love story!! Theresa is an awesome friend of mine from my days at the YMCA in Chula Vista! :) We always had fun at summer camps and intersessions with little kiddos and lots of laughs. Then she met Tito....I can honestly still remember when she would talk about him! They have been so adorable together ever since!!! I was SO excited when I found out that they were engaged and then when she asked if I would capture their sweet love story! We decided to head up to La Jolla for their engagement session and it was so much fun! Theresa and Tito, we are so happy for you guys...and we can't wait till your big day in June!

Thank you so much Tito and Theresa for such a great afternoon. You guys are perfect together, I am so so happy for you both!!

Neri+ Amber= JUDE!

Happy Sunday night my friends. Are you guys in love with Sundays like I am? It has always been my very favorite day of the week. It's relaxing. It usually involves LONG coffee mornings on the couch with lots of morning chats. Long dog walks with my sister and our monkeys. Farmers market lunches and stocking up on produce. Maybe a good little run (when I'm being good) making a nice dinner, and then watching a good movie. Or at least that's about how today went. :) And it was perfect.
Brent is watching 127 Hours and I can't hack the blood that I know is coming up... so I decided to blog!! I have a special treat for you guys. The adorable and outrageously sweet Rivas family! I am pretty excited about this session. I don't get to do a lot of family sessions and it was a lot of fun to do this one! Amber is a friend of mine from high school that I have missed her dearly. A part from being absolutely STUNNING...Amber is sweet, so smart and such an incredible mom. I hadn't had the chance to meet Amber's beautiful little family yet and it was such a great morning spent with the Rivas family. Her and her sweet husband Neri have such an adorable little man named Jude! (I mean really, they named their son Jude....you have to love them already! ;D) Little Jude melted my heart!! He is SO adorable, and so funny! I had so much fun catching up with my sweet friend and getting to know her oh so sweet little family! It was hard for me to pick my favorites for the day...so this is going to be a bit of a long post....but you guys will see why! :)

Jude got an angry cookie and he was happy!! :) mmm....I could go for a cookie right about now!

And then...he dropped his angry cookie...and it was time to say a sad goodbye to the cookie.

Thank you so much Amber and Neri for letting me capture this sweet stage in your families life. I was so honored and so excited to be able to do that! And beautiful, sweet Amber...I am SO glad we were able to get back in touch and catch up!! I can't wait to see you again soon!

Happy Monday friends!! I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend inside cuddled by a warm fire, watching old movies and drinking coffee. That's what I like to do on rainy, blustery days anyway. ;)
Boy, do I have a treat for you all today. Justin and Bridget are awesome, gorgeous, hilarious, sweet, creative and fun! We adore them and I have a feeling you will too after seeing their sweet engagement session. Brent and I went up to San Francisco for an adventurous day, as they took us to all of their favorite spots in the City together, and we had a BLAST! Not only was it awesome seeing places we had never been to in the city before, but it was just so great seeing how excited they were about each places memories there. I hope you guys love seeing these two in all their love for each other and the City as much as I do!! :)

My unforgettable Christmas!!

Hi friends! I hope you all had an incredible Holiday!! Christmas this year was one that will go down in the books for me as the most memorable and amazing days of my life!! Brent proposed to me on Christmas morning! He had a lot of help from some sneaky little elves, and it was honestly the most amazing day of my life! I thought I'd take a few moments to share out little engagement story with everyone and a few photos, captured by my sister! So here's how it all went down....
First a little back story. Christmas Eve we spent the evening at my Grandparents house for our annual Christmas program. Brent and my sisters played it cool as a cucumber! I honestly didn't suspect a THING! The night was a blast with our little cousins skit, and my Grandmothers yearly story of Wallace Perling. Everything was Great. At the end of the night Brent headed up to his parents house in Anaheim as planned (so I thought). And my sister Angie and I headed down to big sister Diana's house the spend Christmas morning with our nieces and nephew. The Christmas plan was that I was going to meet Brent at his parents house for Christmas afternoon and dinner. Still, no hints. Brent called me when he "arrived safely" to his parents house and we said our goodnight.
Christmas morning came earlier then hoped. The munchkins were up and ready to see what Santa brought them at 5:45am. And the morning was going great. After the kids opened all of their gifts from Santa my oldest niece, Amanda told Angie and I that her and her brother and sister had made a scavenger hunt for us to find our gift from them. Angie and I had done this for them last year to open their gift from us, so again, I didn't find anything strange about it at all. Just adorable! So we were off to find our clues one after another. Finally the last clue came and lead us downstairs and to the front door. Now, while all of this was happening, Angie was communicating with Brent and he was getting into position at the front door, as planned. So, back to the last clue. Angie and I rushed down to the front door to see what I thought would be the most adorable handmade gift from our precious nieces and nephew. How wrong I was...I swung open the door laughing and still half sleeping. When I was shocked to see Brent standing their in the fog smiling and waiting for me to come to the door. I immediately began crying, and asking what he was doing in San Diego still, when he was supposed to be in Orange County with his family. Then immediately it hit me and just as I started to formulate a thought, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried more, as I quickly tried to wrap my brain around what was happening. The only thing I could manage to do amidst my tears was nod my head yes and hug him. While trying to stop from crying. After a moment together of tears and shock I turned around to see my family all smiling, taking pictures, videoing and cheering behind us. THEY WERE ALL IN ON IT!! My nieces were such pros. They helped Brent with the scavenger hunt to make it seem believable coming from them....Amanda wrote the clues out and hid them all over the house the night before communicating with Brent via phone calls and texts while I was with him, believing he was on the phone with co workers and my brother in law.
It was a day I will never forget! After spending the rest of Christmas morning with my family we headed up to Anaheim and celebrated with Brent's family who was waiting to hear how all the details panned out, as they were in on it too! Brent's mom even hid the ring at their house so I wouldn't come across it.

I can't thank our families enough for how incredibly special and memorable they made the entire day for us! With the help all of the little elves, our proposal story was one that we will never forget! We love you all so much! Here are a few shots of the morning taken from Diana. Please excuse how sleepy, and groggy I look in all of these...remember it was 6AM!! I wasn't paying attention to the camera's and video camera following us around...they are always there Christmas morning, we have just learned to deal with Christmas morning pictures and video looking not so great of ourselves....I had no idea I'd be looking at these pictures A LOT more then the usual holiday photos.

Just wanted to throw in few of our Holiday cheer before I get to the proposal pics.....But without further ado... Here is how the proposal went down... (remember, I warned you...there were LOTS of tears, and its 6AM!!!:D) Starting out with some clues...

My precious ring! This ring is extra special. It was designed by brent exclusively with a jeweler that he was referred to by a friend in Santa Barbara. I guess she was found by Brent's friend at a Santa Barbara Farmers market, which...if you know me...you know I LOVE it!! Farmers markets make me a happy, happy girl. Knowing of my love for pearls and gold, Brent expressed what he was envisioning and sent Laurie photo's of what he was thinking. And from there she drew up some designs for Brent to chose from...and together they came up with this. And I love it. The first photo is on the last clue that lead me to the front door where Brent was waiting for me with this sweet ring.

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a fabulous 2010. 2011 is going to be a good one! I can feel it! :)

The McGregor Family

Happy Monday friends!! Wow, it has been quite a busy Holiday Season!! But a great one at that!! In between making candies and attempting to make my own Christmas stockings I have been doing some super awesome family sessions, and one beautiful wedding! (that I can't wait to share with you all!) But today is all about the McGregors! :) This family is adorable. I love them and secretly pretended growing up that I was Amanda's sister. You will see why...she's adorable! We shared a similar hair color so in my head that meant I could pretend I was related to her cute little self. Then, to top that, Amanda's mom was my Sunday school teacher when I was a teenager....haha so she knew me at probably my most obnoxious stage in life. You know, the one where you think you know it all and you're pretty sure the world revolves around you. haha yup, that was the last time she saw me. ;) So I was BEYOND thrilled when Amanda contacted me and said that her family wanted to do a family holiday session!! It was a gorgeous day and the light was playing nicely with us!! here are just a few of my favorites from the afternoon!

Tis the season for fun, adorable family sessions. Last week I had the pleasure of photographing the ADORABLE Wright Family. This sweet little family is one of my favs! Jenn is a good friend of my sister's, and I was so excited when she contacted me to do a Holiday session with her precious family. You will see why below. They are so stinkin' cute, it hurts! We had so much fun running around with Austin through the park!

We ended our session with a much anticipated ride on the train. Austin was ADORABLE on the train!

This year I am working with Sara, a fab designer to create some awesome custom cards for you. Here's how the whole thing works. First you'll book your photo shoot, and we will have a super fun 1 hour session with you and your family! Second, after our session I will edit the photos and you will chose the pictures and the custom design that you want for your Holiday cards. Then, while you are running around, getting ready for everything else you have to do this busy Holiday season... your custom cards will be made without you having to worry about a thing! Third, your custom cards will be created and printed and you will receive the disk of all of your images (50+images) AND your custom made Holiday cards in the mail with only one thing left for you to do, address them and send them to your family friends. :)Pretty simple, right!?

Hello friends in the blogosphere. Remember me? :) Well, while you are all probably out on the town enjoying a lovely Friday evening, I have decided to stay in and do a little late night blog post ya!! WOOHOO! Well, this wedding was such a pleasure to be a part of. I was so honored that Crystal Le asked me to help her out on this one. Tina and Veng were some of the sweetest people this side of the Mississippi. (don't ask, I've just always wanted to say that on my blog...and now seemed like as good a time as any to use it!;D) The whole day was such an incredible experience for me. I love being in the presence of love. And you definitely felt the love at this wedding! Take a look for yourself....You can probably feel the love too, just by looking at these two!

Eric and Jessica, Married!

Happy Monday (almost Tuesday) friends. I have a special treat for ya!! Eric and Jessica's beautiful wedding. To begin, I should mention how much I adore this girl! She is a friend of mine from work and I have watched her and Eric from the beginning. Eric and Jessica's day can be summed up with one simple word. LOVE. Since the moment Jessica met Eric she has beamed with happiness. I think they knew from day 1 that they would spend the rest of their lives together! I was so honored that Jess asked me to be a part of their day. I am not kidding when I say this day was all about love. Their family and closest friends all drove to San Francisco from all over to witness these two join their lives together, and FOR REAL....you could feel the love from EVERYONE. It was pretty amazing. Here is a taste of what their day was like.

Blog hiatus and Justin + Katie = ADORABLE!

Hello friends! I'll start with how sorry I am for my almost 3 week blogging hiatus. Last Thursday I moved. The Thursday before that I was frantically packing up our home of almost 6 years. So this week, I will give you two blog posts to make up for my absence.
First up, my cousin and his precious little family. Justin and Katie were gracious enough to allow me to do my first ever photo shoot with them last year! And when they asked if I wanted to do it again to document their family again at this stage in the kids lives, I was beyond excited to do so. It was a quick shoot at our grandparents house in Elfin Forest....just between singing Happy Birthday to my Aunt and fireworks. Their kids were such troopers...especially with all of the excitement going on around them...candy, cousins, big dogs and a pool!! They are such an adorable little family and I love them MUCHO!

After taking pictures we joined the rest of the family for the 4th of July fun!!

International Friendship Games

In light of the World cup I thought I would pay tribute to my two home Countries :) Since I'm cheering for Mexico AND USA,(I spread the love) I decided to post about the International Friendship Games that I attended last month. Last month, Brent and I were asked by one of my sister's students to come photograph the International Friendship Games. The IFG's are a children's sporting event that are meant to bring together athletes from The United States and Mexico, promoting socio economic relationships between the two bordering Cities. (Chula Vista and Tijuana) Brent and I had a lot of fun at the event and felt a lot of energy down there on the field with all of the kiddo's ready to show off their skills! :)

My Sister!

This post is again late...but if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you know things have been a little crazy. The last couple of days were spent DEEP cleaning the house for the owner's to do an open house. But, more on that later. This week I wanted to share something that I have been wanting to blog about for a while. Last month, my sister Angie ran in her first MARATHON!!! YUP, that's right, you heard me... She ran 26 miles on her own will. Watching my sister train for this day was painful. I kept thinking "She's NUTS!" But then come race day, as I watched her cross that finish line, I was amazed. I mean, seriously amazed and PROUD! I don't know what came over me but I was so excited...you'd think I just finished a race! Y'all should run out and talk a loved one into running a marathon...it's quite a rush cheering them on!! :) Anyway, I wanted to dedicate this post to my brave, strong, KICK ass sister. Angie, I'm so proud of you. One of these days I'll run a half with you!

Angie, you really ARE a ROCK STAR! I can't tell you how much I look up to you and how proud I am to be your baby sis! Love you, Sissy.

Meet Oliver and Sierra

I know, I know...Today is Friday!! I promise I did everything I could to get this post to you guys on Thursday, But my computer was just not having it. My Internet was simply not being a team player. Stubborn thing!! Anyway Here we are today, a day late. I was out watering the plants yesterday with the dogs rolling around in the grass when it dawned on me--I have talked about my love for my dogs on here at least a thousand times, but have not introduced them to the blog properly. So I dashed inside, grabbed the camera and took some quick shots of our two little monkeys. The first ones are of Sierra. Sierra Nevada(Also known as SiSi) is 7, going on 8 next month. (I believe? She is technically Angie's baby) Sierra is our protector. She is gentle and sweet with little ones and all people...but makes sure dogs passing by or strange sounds in the night know that she is there watching over and protecting us. I'm not gonna lie, I always feel safe at night when I'm alone in the house and I've got her in my bed! Sierra is patient with little hands that poke and stumble around her, and is always the one I can count on to set a good example to Oliver. She comes when called, sits when asked and always goes first at bath time. Her down fall: She does NOT like making new doggie friends...and she will put ANYTHING she finds on the floor into her mouth! These two things combined can make for a difficult walk when you have both dogs...and here is why: Next, there's Oliver Shy (Also known as Olie, Monkey and Cone Head). At two years old, Olie is the ultimate goof ball. He LOVES making new friends everywhere he goes. Including on walks. He HAS to say hello to absolutely everyone...dogs and people! (Now do you see why it can be difficult when you have them both in your hands on a walk.) Oliver is our little lover. He is the best snuggle bug there is. Angie and I got Oliver as a puppy. He came to us as a super shy little nugget who was always hiding under tables and chairs. Hence his name: Oliver Shy. haha but to know him now, we are often asked why "Shy" is in his name...because he is far from that. He is the ultimate social butterfly. We can take him anywhere and never worry whether or not he will get along. He loves EVERYONE...and just about anyone who likes dogs loves him right back. Oliver and Sierra are so sweet and make my heart happy. I miss them when I am away from home and talk about them way too much!! They are our babies. And we LOVE them! :)

Cristian's last Pre School Hoora!

Say it aint so...Thursday already?? The weeks are FLYING by lately, I can't help but ask myself where they are going? I woke up this morning and did my usual routine: Wake up, start a pot of coffee, feed the dogs, make some PB toast, open my computer and stare at my to do list for a few groggy moments. After I finally got some coffee in me, it dawned on me that today is THURSDAY; and I have a blog I promised to be updated each Thursday! So here I am!! week one on my weekly posts. I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a FANTASTIC week. I definitely am. And the weekend was pretty rad, too! I had the pleasure of tagging along at a wedding with an awesome photographer that I have blog stalked and looked up to or some time now. Miss Ryel J. I had a blast hanging out with her on Saturday! Then Sunday was all about hangin' out with my Tree. My week has been pretty great too. Starting out with hanging out with my favorite 5 year old little man in the world. My sweet, hilarious, adorable, silly little nephew, Cristian. If you know me, then I'm sure you have heard me reference my nephew in every day conversation like a million times. I am one proud Auntie. My nieces and nephew are the loves of my life. (right along side Brent, my dogs and my sisters!!) About once a month my sister, Diana calls me up and asks me to watch Cristian for her. I know she thinks it's a burden to ask me to watch him more often then that...but little does she know, I cherish the one on one time I get to spend with him. This week Diana asked me to take him to his last Pre School party before he heads off to the big K!! (kindergarten) I have taken him to a few other events with his pre school and always love watching him interact with his buddies. So this time I brought the camera along to document his last day in Pre School!! Here are a few shots I got of the day. (Almost all shots are of him and his "best buddy" Zachary. Randi & Geoff Engaged

OK, ok, ok. I know what you are thinking...Something along the lines of "what happened to me? did I fall off a cliff?" I have been terrible with my sweet little blog. Is all it ever does is love me, and I have neglected it so. BUT, I have made a deal with my blog. I will post once a week!! Let it be heard...Every Thursday will be blog day. EVEN if I just blog about how horrible my dogs behaved on our walk I will document it and blog it for y'all to see!

Alright, so now that that's out of the way. Lets get right to the good stuff. Last weekend Brent and I had the pleasure of photographing an old friend of mine from way back in my YMCA days. Yup, that's right. I worked for the good Old Y for about two years with Miss Randi. During those years Randi became a very dear friend to me. We shared LOTS of laughs and good memories with the munchkins at the Y....But secretly my favorite thing about the Y was that I met Miss Randi! Randi is funny. Sweet. witty. patient and kind. After our years at the Y Randi went on to become a fantastic teacher and and then to meet the man of her dreams, Geoff. I can still remember when Randi met Geoff and her telling me all about how "cute he is", like it was yesterday. And let me tell you, he is the PERFECT match for my sweet friend. About 5 years later Randi and Geoff bought a home together (BRAVO!) and Geoff proposed....and now these two lovebirds are getting hitched. I am so honored to have been able to capture their love. These two were so much fun to shoot. We had a fantastic day full of LOTS of laughs and silly moments. But my absolute favorite part of the day was being a witness to Randi and Geoff's love for each other. I hope you guys enjoy looking over these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Just as a warning, its a long one. I had a hard time picking my favorites. So sit back, grab a snack and take a look at our day in Orange County.

The ADORABLE Morinello Family.

Happy Tuesday friends!! HOORAY, we all made it past dreaded Monday! :D That means you deserve a Tuesday Blog post on an ADORABLE, HILARIOUS, SWEET family of four! :D The Morinello's were SO much fun to shoot! (still laugh every time I say that!) Lets begin with Vinnie. Oh my word this kid could keep me entertained for days! He is so animated and silly and clever! He even had some stellar poses that he wanted to try out! This kid is RADICAL. The end. :D And a kid this rad doesn't get that way without awesome parents. Mike and Amy are so amazing. I have known Amy for a while as she is one of my dearest friends sister. Amy is such a sweet, soft spoken lovable mom. You can't help but just smile in her presence. Mike is a super nice, warm, silly guy that you want to hang out with. This family is one that you just can't help but love. And as for sweet, sweet baby Chloe....well I can't tell you how exciting it is to see this beautiful little baby girl get bigger and bigger. You guys might remember her from a while back when I shot her newborn session. She is BEYOND precious! Anyhow I am rambling (I do that)...So Here are a few shots from the day of the Morinello family. Here is a rare seen shot of ME! ;) It was taken by Brent of Abbey and I. I love, love, love this girl. She has been an amazing friend for the last 9ish years! (eeek that makes me feel old) We have shared countless laughs, lots of long talks about just about everything, and even shared a few tears together. :D Abbey came along on the shoot to play "dog whisperer" as Mike referred to her. Thank you so much for your help, friend. You are amazing. :)

Bekah & Steve Maternity Shoot

Happy Hump Day, friends in the world wide web! A couple of weeks ago I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Bekah and Steve for a maternity shoot. I was BEYOND thrilled when Bekah called me to do this session for them. I had so much fun shooting these two! (haha, I still chuckle every time I say that) Bekah came with all sorts of fun things for the shoot and we had a blast taking pictures of the little bun in her oven. I am so excited for these two to be parents. So about a week and a half ago I had the EXTREME pleasure of capturing the sweet love between Steven and Jen. Jen is a sweet, lovable girl who makes you warm and fuzzy inside and Steven is a super rad, hilarious guy that loves is technology (mac to be specific). Together they are a super fun, loving couple that is going to have a beautiful life together. I am so honored to have had the chance to capture their love. Jen's adorable son, Brandon also come along on our fun, afternoon shoot. Oh my goodness, this kid is SO ADORABLE!! And super patient. Feb. SoCal Photog ShootOut

Alright, so for the record...I'm warning y'all that this is gonna be a long post. But here it goes. Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending another SoCal Photog ShootOut. This time the awesome location was in Pasadena at the The Romanesque Room. I was nervous for this one as it was my first shootout without Brent. I love going to these things with Brent because he is a great inspiration to me, giving me little critiques throughout the day and pushing me to try new things....so I was a bit nervous to brave a big event such as this one my own! But I'm SO glad that I got tickets and made it to this event because it was AWESOME! (Although, Brent you were missed!) Hanssie and Matt did a fantastic job putting this together, with some help from the FABULOUS Amanda Auer of In The Now Weddings. Everything was awesome from the STUNNING models to the awesome location in Pasadena to the great little details put in be everyone involved! This event was unlike the rest of the shootouts. This time they put on a ~~wedding~~ well, a mock wedding with everything from stations for an engagement shoot in the city, to a Bridal and couples portrait, to the sweet little details we get to take at the event and then the "wedding" itself! It was a fabulous day and everything turned out so rad! Here are a few of my favorites from the day. I hope you enjoy them. Don't say I didn't warn you about how long it is! ;)

My Tree and Me.

OK, so I usually NEVER post about myself. As I like to focus on my friends that I have the pleasure of photographing. Its better that way guys, Im not good in front of the camera! However, I thought that just this once I would do a little post about me and my tree. Today is mine and Brent's 8 year anniversary. Seeing that Brent is the BIGGEST inspiration to me and has been my biggest fan since day one. Pushing me to learn new things, go to events and meet people, teach me little tricks on photoshop and with my camera that I sometimes get too frustrated with to teach myself (I know, Im lettin' y'all in on a little secret, that I can AT TIMES be a little impatient ;D) Anyway, I just wanted to dedicate a small post to my best friend and my partner in this great big world. My tree, whom I dig OH SO MUCH! Brent, you are the bees knees. Happy Anniversary.

January San Diego SoCal Photog ShootOut

Happy Monday inter-web-ers! A couple of weekends ago Brent and I had the pleasure of attending our second ShootOut for the, this time San Diego SoCal Photog ShootOut! (Ha, say that 10x, fast!) We had a blast. We love being able to get together and meet other rad photographers and NOW after we have attended our second one see a couple of familiar faces, and practice what we love to do, while hopefully learning a little along the way from the FABULOUS pro's who were there leading the different groups. This months (rather, Last month now) ShootOut was at the Heritage museum in Encinitas, CA. The week before the shootout had been full of rain and threatened to rain the day of the shoot. But as luck would have it the clouds moved over and allowed the sun to shine her pretty little face all day long. (seriously, there were NO clouds in site!) Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Meet, Baby Chloe

This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of meeting baby Chloe! Chloe is my dear friend, Abbey's niece. When Abbey's sister Amy agreed to let me come photograph Chloe I was SUPER jazzed...cause this was my first time doing a "newborn session" Amy and Mike also have a RAD little boy named Vinnie who is the worlds biggest 6 year old Anaheim Ducks fan! Seriously, I challenge anyone who thinks their kid is a bigger fan! This boys room was ALL Hockey, ALL DUCKS! He's such a fun kid...I am hoping maybe next time I make a trip up to visit Abbey we can sneak a little family session in with Amy, Mike, Vinnie and Chloe! ;D
My morning with Amy and Chloe was RAD! Seriously, newborn shoots may be my new favorite! I was gushing over every LITTLE thing! Her sweet little toes, and her precious little hands, and that sweet little newborn smell...it was seriously melting my heart! Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from the morning...

Poncho + Mina= DAICHI!

The other day I had the pleasure of taking some photos for a friend of mine from work and his sweet little family. Poncho is my favorite go to person at work when it comes to ALL THINGS MOVIE related! Seriously, we have the same love for movies, and classic movies at that. This guy knows what's good! A couple of years ago Poncho and his sweet wife, Mina had an insanely adorable little baby boy...Daichi!! When Poncho asked if I wanted to take some pictures of his sweet, adorable family I was THIRLLED!!! Y'all can see why below!!
Here are my favorites from our afternoon at my favorite place in San Diego. YUP, non other then the Beautiful Balboa Park! I started the Post off with my favorite shot of the day. Daichi was SO cute, but also a little shy to start off with, and kept trying to hide from me by doing this. It wasn't long before he warmed up to me though and was running around, laughing and TALKING up a storm. (Awesome fact about this brilliant little boy, he speaks BOTH Spanish and Japanese!! The kids already smarter then me!)

What do you get when you mix an INSANELY adorable and out of this world SWEET family of 11 with rad trees tucked away behind a big park in the middle of a housing development in Chula Vista??? The answer... Complete RADtasticalness. (Its a new word guys, look it up on wikipedia in like 10 mins!) Seriously you guys, this family is AWESOME!! December Socal Photog Shootout--Claremont

OK, OK, OK...I know I am a tad bit late on this post...but, better late than never. Right? So way back in December of 09' ( ;D) Brent and I had the awesome opportunity to attend our first Socal Photog Shootout. I had never heard of this before a new friend recently told me about it at the Smugmug meeting we attended in November....and let me tell you guys, I am SO thrilled I went to that smugmug meeting and met Crystal and Catherine who told me all about this AWESOME shootout!!! I guess the best way to explain it to all of my many followers who don't know what this is (haha I know, I don't have many followers...but humor me!) Anyway, the Socal Photog Shootout is just a chance for a group of photographers to get together and horn in on their skill, learn from their peers, have the awesome opportunity to talk with some RAD pro's who I possibly blog stalk in secret....and simply spend the day going to different stations set up complete with models and all and shoot our little hearts out...posing the models however we want and getting different takes from the other photographers there!!! It's seriously SOOO awesome! I was crazy nervous to actually shoot with other photogs that I know are light years ahead of me right now...but it ended up being something I am absolutely in love with. It's such a fabulous tool set up for photographers to have at their fingertips!!! SO, back to what the Shootout is... (sorry, I get easily distracted) each month they have different Shootouts in different locations, with different themes...Decembers theme was "The Great Gatsby" and ok, if you know me....you know the insane amount of cartwheels I was doin' in my head when I found this out. Cause, lets just say...I am obsessed with that book and the beautiful detail of that decade!!! SO I was in HEAVEN with the fab hair and makeup and wardrobe the models got set up in!! Everyone looked STELLAR!! I had a blast shooting my heart out, meeting FABULOUS photographers, and learning new tricks along the way!!! Its such a rad way to meet new people AND practice your craft at the same time!!! I would HIGHLY recommend all my photographer friends out there to attend the next one if they get a chance to!! SO, without further ado...Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the day in ADORABLE Claremont, CA!

Richey Girls

Ohhh how I love these sisters!!! I have known the Richey girls for about 8 years now....and it's been such a pleasure watching them grow up over the years and seeing the bond of these four fabulous sisters. I also have three sisters and its SO fun seeing what the bond of four girls looks like from an outsiders point of view. ;) Gosh, sisters are RAD!!! :D And these four sisters are STELLAR, STYLISH, HILARIOUS and oh so SWEET to boot! When Shannon e-mailed me about this session I was unbelievably excited...I had secretly been waiting for the day she would call!!! :D Brent and I had a radtastical time at this session!! My Mini Surprise in the Mail Today

Hi friends! OK, so don't tease me for this somewhat giddy, goofy post (haha well you can---I wouldn't blame ya)...but I am so excited that I had to share with all of you! My first cards arrived today in the mail. Now, I know that this doesn't seem like a big deal, cause anyone...and I mean anyone can make cards with anything written on them...but for me, this is special. This is my first time EVER to have cards made up with the words "Megan Guerrero and Photographer" written on them... and that is BIG to me!! With that being said, I knew I didn't want to get just any old card. While I still don't have a logo made up I didn't know how to make my cards stand out or represent me in some small way.... then, along came Moo...(www.moo.com). I found moo.com through a friend of mine who gave me another friends card that had used moo.com for her own cards...Did ya'll get that??? Anyway...I LOVED this girls RAD cards and had decided my search was over...I had to order through Moo! Are ya'll wondering what makes these cards so fun, unique and rad to me?Well, they are MINI!! (just like, ME) These little, mini cards seemed to be the perfect fit for me to give to people to represent my growing, budding little business. (haha I know, its still in the ground, not yet sprouting....but I know it will sprout soon enough!) So, until my little business decides to grow and I make more of a name for myself...these little minis will be what I will hand out to anyone that wants one, representing ME and my mini business and my mini self! So without further ado.....my mini moo cards...

Cindy and Rich's Holiday Love

Hello friends!This past weekend I had the Fabulous pleasure of shooting Cindy and Rich! Cindy and I have been trying to plan the perfect time to do a shoot together for a while now and when Cindy e-mailed me asking if we could do a shoot before Christmas (perhaps as gifts???) ;D I was overjoyed, as I have been wanting to get them in front of my camera for some time!! haha, does that sound creepy?? Anyway, we finally went out Saturday morning and made it just in time before the big San Diego storm came the next night! PHEW! Brent and I had a blast wondering around Coronado Island taking pics of these to love birds!!! Here are a few of my favorites from the day!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these ones of Cindy goofing around in front of the awesome theater they showed us!! ( I hope Cindy doesn't mind that I put them up...I just think they are SO adorable!)
This one is all thanks to Brent. I have seen this done before and NEVER knew how to even begin doing it myself...and Brent came to the rescue and taught me how to do it!!! Have I mentioned he's pretty freakin' awesome!!!??

Holiday Cards

I Heart Faces--Sun flare

So, this is my first time EVER submitting something to the Fabulous I Heart Faces photo challenge. I have been a huge fan of theirs for a while now, frequenting their blog often for inspiration!! I love seeing what so many other photographers out there are doin'! Not to mention as a new photographer its awesome to have a place to go for tips and helpful links! Seriously, I could go on forever about how much I love these guys! But I have never felt brave enough to submit anything of mine...until now I guess. I felt I had to the second I saw the challenge... "Sun flares" are sort of my soft spot. I LOVE, love, LOVE them! I'm constantly drawn to these shots. There's really just nothing more romantic to me then some great light and a magical sun glare! Anyway, right away I knew deep down just the picture I had to use. (I tried to tell myself to use other new ones I have taken but kept going back to this one...and Brent's reassurance that it was the right one helped too) I took this image over the summer when I was lucky enough to shoot my friends Amanda and Todd's e-session. This is one of those images that I just sort of fell in love with for some reason. It just spoke to me! (haha, I know...I'm a goof!) I suppose it just so perfectly captured the love of Amanda and Todd. If I could some how put their love into a bottle and drop it in the ocean for others to find...I would roll this picture up and put it inside! Yeah, again...GOOF, ya'll gotta get used to that! ;D Anyway, I know their faces aren't totally visible, but I think their profiles and expressions are so perfectly highlighted by the glare of the sun...So, I'm hoping it counts! Again, being my first entry, I'm not 100% sure if that's ok??? I hope so! So with all that said, Happy Turkey day Fellow inter-webbers in the fabulous blogosphere! Oh, and P.S. I HEART FACES!

Holiday Cards

First Smugmug meeting and The Quintero's

Hello bloggers and happy FRIDAY! Before I start talking about my fabulous sister and her beautiful family, I want to talk about last night. SO, last night I had the opportunity to attend my first ever OC smug mug meeting. This was HUGE for me! If you know me at all (and you all do because lets be real, I don't have many followers...YET! ;D) Anyhow, if ya know me you know that I am INSANELY shy and a little ridiculously introverted. Which, I know what you are thinking next: How am I doing Photography and talking to people, getting THEM to come out of their shells when I myself, am this shy? Well the answer is I force myself out of my shell...and it pays off every time. Just like it did last night; when I forced myself to step outside of my usual shy-self and drive me and my fantastic boyfriend up to Orange County to sit in a room full of other awesome photographers and listen to the FABULOUS JStar* (Jasmine Star!) share her fabulous insight in her world of "Netmaking." Netmaking is a word that Jasmine made up in place of a word that she shared she had a common hatred for...Networking! Netmaking, as Jasmine so beautifully put it, is: "The desire to put one's needs before your own as a way to help, invest, and grow another business." She continued to tell us all of the ways we could help others...not to boost ourselves or our own businesses but rather, to help others. And maybe, watch as Karma works its beautiful magic. (as my new friend Crystal Le put it: "the good old "do unto others as you would have others do unto you"")Naturally Jasmine (and Crystal) put it much better then I did, but as I sat there (at the edge of my seat, said Brent) I just kept thinking "Oh my gosh, I would LOVE to help others...But what can I give? I hardly have knowledge myself and I just barely taught myself how to work my Nikon D60 on manual....surely no one needs MY help" And then she kept going and kept reminding us that she too was once in the same boat, with the same fears and that she always found a way to make herself helpful to anyone in ANY way she could. So, needless to say I drove home all wide eyed and excited like a little kid on Christmas morning. Imagining all of the ways I can try to be of help to ANYONE! So my goal from now on is to find ways that I can help others, and NETMAKE...in ANY way that I can! To end the fabulous night we were instructed to talk to at least three other photographers in the room and netmake...not to be confused with network. We were to really get to know them, try to offer our help to them and actually go home with a new contact that you follow through with. I was NERVOUS to say the least...but was so thrilled that AGAIN I pushed myself to not think in the old Megan mind set....and was so grateful to have met some fantastic photographers and great people to learn from and hopefully help in some way! ALSO there, was the ever fabulous Ryel J! I met Ryel just a few weeks ago at my friends wedding that I practically forced my friend to hire as her photographer. (I am kidding, actually Ayelet was in love the second she saw Ryel's work!!!) Anyway, I bring Ryel up because I would literally kick myself if I didn't share with my fellow inter-webbers how FABULOUS, SWEET, INVITING and TALENTED Ryel is. She not only recognized me from Ayelet's wedding but ran over and gave me a huge hug making a nervous me feel so very welcome in a place that I was so nervous to be at. Ryel has been an incredible inspiration to me in these first few months as I try to find who I want to become as a photographer and artist....And I can only hope that some day I make another photographer feel as welcome and comforted as Ryel has made me feel! (ok, don't tease me...but I literally DO NOT know how to link people's websites yet, otherwise, I would have linked both Jasmine and Ryel's blogs to my page....but I promise I will learn soon!) If you do want to see their work just shoot me an e-mail and I will send you their links! Anyway after dreaming last night of ways to NETMAKE and push myself in more ways as a photographer I felt that I had to post something about my experience last night! IT was fabulous thanks to Jasmine, smug mug, Ryel J and all of the other rad photographers there!

Now, onto the Quinteros! My sister and her hubby actually made their big BLOG Debut a few months ago when I just got my camera...but the holidays are rolling around and I am working on a little something that I will share with you all next week...So again my sister graciously agreed to gather her beautiful family for me to photograph in what is my favorite place in San Diego...Balboa Park! I had a blast shooting my fun, goofy, spirited, HILARIOUS, super sweet nieces and nephew and my beautiful sister and her oober awesome hubby (brother in law as he is referred to by me and Angie) Here are a few of my favorites from the afternoon...Stay tuned next week for what fun ideas we have coming for the Holidays (Hint---Think Holiday cards!)

Proof that Fall does exist in Southern California

My fabulous sister and I decided (unbeknownst to us) to take, what turned out to be a TWO hour drive up to Idyllwild yesterday afternoon to take the dogs for a nice walk in "Nature"... and prove that Southern California does have an Autumn Season after all. And I am pleased to announce that we were right; Southern California's leaves change too! And boy is it beautiful! Thank you sister, for showing me one of your favorite places.

Annie & Jeremy...MARRIED!

Annie and Jeremy were married on August 15th at Voyagers Park In Irvine, CA. The only thing that comes to mind when I think back to their day and look through there photos is LOVE. This day was FILLED with so much LOVE. It was honestly an honor to witness the amount of love their family and friends have for these two. Some of you may remember me saying this when I posted their e-session back in June, but these two are honestly two of the most sincerely loving and kind people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I will remember Annie and Jeremy's beautiful day for the rest of me life. Not only because of the incredibly special role they play in my life as a photographer...but also because of the lasting memory of their love for each other in their relationship and their respect for one another as individuals. Here are some of my favorite shots from their beautiful day! (I know its a BIG post...but I simply had to make it BIG!)

Summer days in Island Park

Last month we packed our little cars and hit the LOOOONG road up to Island Park, ID. My mom has a cabin up there and the WHOLE wonderful gang spent the week canoeing, hiking, biking, horse back riding, searching for animals and staying up late, chatting with cousins we never get to see! It was a fantastic week spent with my family that I love so much! :D
